Santos responds, but Tijuana strikes again
Just after the start of the second half, in the 47th minute, Kader Hancar extended the lead for Xolos, making it 0-2 and appearing to put the match firmly in Tijuana’s control.
However, Santos reacted. In the 56th minute, María Peraza Romero scored with a header to make it 1-2, restoring hope for the home side.
The turning point came in the 69th minute, when Amogelang Motau was sent off, leaving Tijuana with ten players and completely shifting the momentum.
Santos takes advantage of the extra player
With a numerical advantage, Santos pressed forward and found the equalizer in the 77th minute, when Samantha Calvillo Hernández scored inside the box to make it 2-2.
The final minutes were intense, with chances for both teams, but the score remained unchanged.
A point with mixed feelings
The draw leaves mixed feelings for Xolos Femenil. On one hand, earning a point away from home is always positive; on the other, a two-goal lead seemed enough to secure all three points.
Even so, the border team showed character and attacking ability on a difficult field like TSM.
