Club Tijuana defeats Necaxa 3-0 at the border
Tijuana, B.C. — Xolos de Tijuana secured a solid home victory after defeating Necaxa 3-0, in a match filled with intensity and controversy that saw the visitors finish with two red cards.
First Half: Dominance and the opener
The game started with both sides pushing forward, but it was the home team who struck first. In the 43rd minute, Frank Boya found the back of the net inside the box, giving Tijuana the early 1-0 lead.
Necaxa’s situation worsened early, as Ricardo Monreal was sent off in the 15th minute, leaving his team with 10 men. Shortly after, the coaching staff also suffered an ejection, further adding to the visitors’ frustration.
Second Half: Xolos seal the victory
Coming out of halftime, Tijuana kept the pressure high and extended their lead. In the 52nd minute, Frank Boya scored again, this time with a header to make it 2-0.
The situation deteriorated for Necaxa in the 57th minute, when Diber Cambindo was shown a red card after a second booking, leaving the Rayos with nine players.
The final blow came at the 88th minute, after a VAR review awarded Tijuana a penalty. Adonis Preciado stepped up and converted from the spot, sealing the 3-0 victory.
A victory to celebrate
With this result, Xolos earn three crucial points and their fans celebrate a performance marked by determination and tactical discipline. Necaxa, on the other hand, leaves with plenty of concerns, not only because of the defeat but also due to the lack of discipline that defined their night.
Tijuana will look to maintain their momentum in the upcoming round, while Necaxa must regroup and correct their errors to avoid falling into the lower ranks of the standings.
