Concacaf W Champions Cup Semifinals: Clash of Giants at Estadio Universitario

This Wednesday, May 21st, Estadio Universitario in Nuevo León will host the semifinals of the inaugural edition of the Concacaf W Champions Cup. Four elite women’s soccer teams from North America will compete for a spot in the grand final and a ticket to the 2028 FIFA Women’s Club World Cup.

On the other hand, Gotham FC, the 2023 NWSL champions, features stars like Rose Lavelle and Lynn Williams and will look to leverage their international experience.

Tigres Femenil vs. Portland Thorns FC

Tigres, six-time Liga MX Femenil champions, advanced undefeated as leaders of Group A, with standout players such as Jenni Hermoso and Jacqueline Ovalle. They will face the Portland Thorns, three-time NWSL champions, who have talents like Sophia Smith and Venezuelan Deyna Castellanos, who recently joined the team for this crucial match.

The winners of these semifinals will meet in the final on Saturday, May 24th, while the losers will compete for third place on the same day.
