San Diego Wave continues elite start

San Diego Wave remain one of the hottest teams in the NWSL after a 3-2 road win over Denver Summit.

After a disappointing finish last season, the California club has rediscovered its competitive edge and now owns a 5-1-0 record.

Wave responded quickly, with Lia Godfrey once again creating danger and helping set up the goal scored by Kimmi Ascanio.

That goal shifted momentum and gave the visitors confidence.

Wesley continues to rise after also impressing recently with the United States Women's National Team.

The comeback was completed in the 65th minute when Dudinha scored the winning goal to make it 3-2.

Her performances this season have made her one of the club’s most important players and one of the league’s standout performers.

Five straight wins and more tests ahead

With the victory, San Diego Wave reaches a club-record five consecutive wins and stays near the top of the standings.

The team now faces another demanding road test against Portland Thorns on April 29, aiming for a sixth straight victory.
