🌊 A New International Talent Joins the Wave
San Diego, July 24, 2025 — San Diego Wave FC has made a major addition to its roster by acquiring Maria Eduarda Rodrigues Silva, better known as Dudinha, from São Paulo FC for an undisclosed transfer fee. The Brazilian forward has signed a multi-year contract through the 2027 NWSL season, pending receipt of her P-1 visa.
At just 20 years old, Dudinha becomes the first Brazilian player in San Diego Wave FC history, a historic move that reflects the club’s global ambitions.
⚽ A Promising Profile with International Experience
According to Wave FC’s Sporting Director and General Manager Camille Ashton, the signing is both strategic and symbolic:
“At just 20 years old, Dudinha already brings meaningful experience at both the professional and international levels. She’s a dynamic and technical forward who’s made an impact in Brazil’s top league and with the national team. We’re proud to welcome her as the first Brazilian signing in Wave FC history and believe she has the talent to be a key contributor for our Club.”
Success in Brazil and with the National Team
During her time with São Paulo FC, Dudinha made over 65 appearances, scored 14 goals, and was instrumental in leading the club to the 2025 Supercopa Feminina title. In the 2024 season alone, she recorded four goals and three assists in 16 matches, showing consistent development.
Her international journey is equally impressive. Dudinha started with Brazil’s U-17 national team in 2022, scoring 5 goals in 10 matches and helping win the South American U-17 Championship. Later that year, she joined the U-20 squad, winning the South American U-20 Championship and contributing to Brazil’s third-place finish at the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, the country’s best showing since 2006.
Dudinha debuted for the senior national team in 2025, scoring twice in a friendly against Japan in May. She is currently competing in the 2025 Copa América, where she has already recorded an assist in group-stage play.
