Tough Defeat in International Debut

Pachuca Femenil suffered a heavy 3-0 loss to Palmeiras in their opening match of the 2025 Women’s Cup, falling short of reaching the tournament final. The Brazilian side dominated from start to finish, while the Tuzas never found their rhythm on the field.

From the early minutes, the Mexican team struggled to contain the speed and precision of their South American rivals. Palmeiras took advantage of defensive gaps and maintained comfortable control of the ball throughout the match.

Goals That Shaped the Match

The scoreboard opened in the 24th minute, when Brena Carolina converted a corner kick with a powerful header to give Palmeiras the lead.

Pachuca tried to respond but made a costly defensive mistake in the 38th minute, which Soll Oliveira capitalized on to double the lead.

In the second half, defensive errors continued. In the 58th minute, a foul committed by Daniela Flores inside the box led to a penalty. Taina Maranhão stepped up and buried it for the 3-0.

In stoppage time, Pachuca was reduced to 10 players after Flores received a red card for denying a clear goal-scoring opportunity with another foul.

Out of Sync and Out of Chances

Despite their effort, Óscar Torres’s side lacked clarity in attack and showed serious fragility in defense. Pachuca was outmatched in pace, accuracy, and tactical approach, leaving questions to be answered ahead of their next game.

What’s Next

With this result, Palmeiras advances to the final, where they will face Racing Louisville. Meanwhile, Pachuca Femenil will play for third place against São Paulo, with the match scheduled for Thursday, July 24.
