Olvera and Celaya Bring Mexico Back to the Podium
Mexico’s diving duo continues to deliver outstanding results on the international stage. Osmar Olvera and Juan Celaya earned the silver medal in the 3-meter synchronized springboard final at the 2025 World Aquatics Championships held in Singapore.
With precise and fluid execution, the Mexican pair showcased their talent from the very first dives, maintaining a podium position throughout the competition. Their consistency was key to securing second place in an event where every detail matters.
🥇 China Leads, but Mexico Challenges Strongly
Gold went to the powerhouse team from the People's Republic of China, featuring Olympic champion Wang Zongyuan and Zheng Jiuyuan, who had just claimed the 1-meter springboard world title a day earlier—beating Olvera in that event.
Still, Olvera and Celaya delivered a strong and composed performance to secure silver, while Great Britain’s Anthony Harding and Jack Laugher completed the podium with bronze.
📊 Historic Milestone for the Mexican Divers
This medal marks Osmar Olvera’s seventh career medal at World Championships, solidifying his legacy as one of Mexico’s greatest divers. For Juan Celaya, it is his second career world medal, reaffirming his return to elite form following his Olympic success at Paris 2024.
With this silver, Mexico continues its strong campaign at Singapore 2025, confirming its place as a diving powerhouse in Latin America.
