🚨 Official Preparations Begin for the 2025 NFL Season
NFL training camps are officially underway, marking the start of on-field preparations for another highly anticipated season. The Los Angeles Chargers and Detroit Lions were the first teams to report with full squads, ahead of their clash in the Hall of Fame Game on July 31 in Canton, Ohio.
Other marquee franchises, such as the reigning Super Bowl champions Philadelphia Eagles and their rivals the Dallas Cowboys, will report by July 21–22. These two teams will kick off the regular season on September 4 in primetime, broadcast nationally on NBC.
🎉 "Back Together Weekend": Fans Take Center Stage
For the fifth consecutive year, all 32 teams will participate in the "Training Camp: Back Together Weekend", scheduled for Saturday, July 26 and Sunday, July 27. This league-wide celebration will feature fan-focused events, live practices, player appearances, and media coverage across the country.

🕘 NFL Network: 17 hours of live coverage over both days
📺 ESPN and ABC: Special coverage on July 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET
Fans will get an up-close look at new signings, rookies, and returning stars, while also enjoying behind-the-scenes access to their favorite teams.
🤝 Joint Practices on the Rise Across the League
A growing trend for 2025: 29 clubs will engage in joint training sessions with other teams. The first scheduled joint practices will be:
Colts vs. Ravens – August 5 in Owings Mills, Maryland
Rams vs. Cowboys – August 5 in Oxnard, California
Teams like the Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, and San Francisco 49ers are among the 16 franchises planning multiple joint practices during the summer.
🏠 Home or Away? Where Teams Are Training
While 6 teams have opted to hold camp away from their main facilities, 26 franchises (81%) will stay close to home. This is tied for the most since 2000.
Teams training off-site include:
🦬 Buffalo Bills – St. John Fisher University (Rochester, NY)
⭐ Dallas Cowboys – Staybridge Suites (Oxnard, CA)
🏈 Pittsburgh Steelers – St. Vincent College (Latrobe, PA)
🔴 Kansas City Chiefs – Missouri Western State University (St. Joseph, MO)
Remaining teams will hold camp at or near their headquarters or stadiums.

The preseason spotlight begins with the Hall of Fame Game between the Chargers and Lions on July 31. Training camps will lead into the full slate of preseason matchups and ultimately the official kickoff on September 4, when the Eagles face the Cowboys under the lights.
