Chivas Femenil Earn Victory Against Atlante as Mayra Pelayo Finds the Net Again

Chivas Femenil continues to show why it is among the leading teams in the tournament. Having already secured a place in the playoffs, Guadalajara earned a 1-0 victory over Atlante, thanks to a goal from Mayra Pelayo, strengthening the team's confidence ahead of a decisive stretch of the season.

Head coach Antonio Contreras saw his team control much of the match, reinforcing the idea that Chivas' position in the standings is no coincidence. The team's emphatic victory over Necaxa the previous week had already highlighted its attacking potential, and this latest result demonstrated its ability to manage games and secure important points.

The decisive goal came in the 12th minute, when Mayra Pelayo found the back of the net to give Guadalajara the lead. The midfielder continues to rediscover the form she displayed during her time with Xolos Femenil and the Mexican national team, providing an encouraging sign for Chivas ahead of its upcoming challenges.

Beyond the result, the match also sparked discussion about conditions away from the pitch. During the post-match press conference, Antonio Contreras voiced his dissatisfaction with the stadium arrangements, particularly the situation involving Chivas supporters who had to watch the game from outside the venue.

The coach emphasized the importance of accessibility for fans and creating better conditions for supporters to attend matches, an issue that remains important to the continued growth of Liga MX Femenil.

Before the highly anticipated Clásico Nacional against América, Chivas will face Toluca, where the team will look to maintain its current form and build momentum ahead of one of the season's biggest matchups.

With its playoff place secured and Mayra Pelayo regaining her influence on the pitch, Guadalajara will aim to keep building confidence and prove it can compete with the strongest teams in the league.
