Xolos Fall 1-0 to Querétaro at Estadio Caliente

After a break caused by the Leagues Cup, Xolos and Querétaro returned to Liga MX action looking to continue their respective momentum.

Xolos entered the match with confidence surrounding Gilberto Mora and the mentality that head coach Loco Abreu has been building within the team. The Estadio Caliente had also become an important stronghold for the border club, making another home result a priority.

Meanwhile, Querétaro, under Esteban González, continues to show signs of becoming a serious project capable of competing for important results in Liga MX.

The match started evenly, with Gilberto Mora starting for Xolos, while Uruguayan defender Franco Homenchenko was also in Querétaro's starting lineup.

The balance remained throughout much of the first half until the 30th minute, when Mateo Coronel scored the only goal of the night to give Querétaro a 1-0 lead.

Xolos tried to find an equalizer, but the home side could not break through Querétaro's defense. The result brought an end to Xolos' unbeaten run at Estadio Caliente.

After the match, Loco Abreu questioned his team's performance, acknowledging that Xolos did not play at the level expected on a night when protecting their home record was a major objective.

The defeat leaves Xolos in sixth place, but now level on points with the team in eighth, making the race for a Liguilla spot increasingly complicated.
