Toros de Tijuana shut out Charros de Jalisco 4-0 at home
The Toros de Tijuana defeated Charros de Jalisco 4-0 in a game that remained scoreless through the early innings before the home side took control.
The score stayed 0-0 through five innings, with both pitching staffs keeping the opposing offenses in check. Tijuana finally broke the deadlock in the fifth inning, when Tomás Telis doubled and Gilberto Celestino helped bring home the game's opening run.
Toros continued to build their lead in the sixth inning. A single by Wilmer Flores brought Phillip Evans home, while a defensive error by Charros helped Tijuana create additional opportunities.
The decisive moment came in the seventh inning. Jonathan Guzmán was hit by a pitch and eventually scored after advancing to third, with a throwing error by the Charros catcher allowing him to cross home plate. Tomás Telis also contributed with a sacrifice bunt.
By the eighth inning, Toros had built a 3-0 advantage and added one more run when Jonathan Guzmán delivered with a single after Hernán Pérez doubled.
With timely hitting and strong pitching, Tijuana completed the 4-0 shutout and secured an important home victory over Charros.
The Toros de Tijuana will now look to carry the momentum into the remainder of the series against Charros de Jalisco.
