Xolos Femenil Draw 1-1 Against Pumas as Playoff Hopes Fade

The season continues to be a difficult one for Xolos Femenil, coached by Fernando Samayoa. With the tournament nearing its conclusion, Tijuana needed a win against Pumas to keep its playoff hopes alive. Instead, the teams settled for a draw, leaving the border club in an increasingly difficult position.

Pumas also entered the match hoping to collect the points needed to move closer to the final playoff spot, making the encounter an important opportunity for both sides.

Tijuana faced a significant absence for the game. Michel Fong was unavailable after receiving a red card in the previous match against Puebla.

Despite missing one of its key players, Xolos started with intensity and took the lead in the 13th minute, when Motau found the back of the net. The goal gave the home side an early advantage and renewed hopes of securing three crucial points.

Pumas responded before halftime. In the 30th minute, Ribeiro scored the equalizer, bringing the score to 1-1 and forcing Tijuana to search for another goal in the second half.

Xolos continued pushing to regain the lead, but the team was unable to convert its opportunities. The score remained unchanged until the final whistle, leaving Tijuana with a disappointing draw at a critical point in the season.

With this result, Xolos Femenil faces a major challenge to reach the playoffs. A difficult campaign has left the team with little room for error, and every dropped point makes its path to the next round more complicated.

Tijuana will have another opportunity to play in front of its supporters this Saturday, when it hosts Cruz Azul. Admission will be free, giving local fans a chance to support the team during the final stretch of a challenging season.
