Xolos Femenil Defeat Pachuca 3-1 to Return to Winning Ways
After difficult away trips against Atlas and América, where Xolos Femenil suffered two consecutive defeats, the team returned home looking to turn things around. Standing in their way was Pachuca Femenil, one of the Liga MX Femenil's consistent contenders, led by experienced players such as Charlyn Corral.
Xolos entered the match without Michel Fong, who is currently representing the Mexico U-20 national team at the World Cup in Poland.
The home side wasted little time making an impact. In the 8th minute, Dana Sandoval found the back of the net with a long-range effort to give Xolos an early 1-0 lead.
The pressure from Xolos continued to cause problems for Pachuca, and the hosts quickly extended their advantage. Trudi Carter scored in the 20th minute, before Dani Carrandi made it 3-0 in the 27th minute.
Pachuca managed to respond just before halftime, with Chinwendu pulling one back in the 44th minute. However, Xolos maintained control of the advantage and ultimately secured a valuable 3-1 victory at home.
Following the match, Fernando Samayoa praised the unity within his squad during his press conference, highlighting how the players continue to act like a family both on and off the field.
The victory allows Xolos Femenil to return to winning ways after their two away defeats. Their next challenge will be another difficult one on the road, as they travel to face Toluca.
