Madrid, March 25 — FC Barcelona Femení delivered a dominant performance, defeating Real Madrid Femenino 6-2 in the first leg of the quarterfinals of the UEFA Women's Champions League.
The match highlighted once again the gap between the two sides, as Barcelona took a commanding lead heading into the second leg.
This clash is part of a three-match stretch between the two teams, including the return leg and a meeting in Liga F.
Fast start sets the tone
Barcelona wasted no time asserting dominance.
In the 6th minute, Ewa Pajor opened the scoring, followed by Esmee Brugts in the 13th minute to make it 2-0.
Linda Caicedo shines despite defeat
Linda Caicedo was the standout performer for Real Madrid, scoring twice (30’ and 66’) and providing glimpses of hope for her team.
