⚽ Rayadas and Tuzas to Clash in Campeón de Campeonas—Now in the U.S.
📍 A Historic Clash: Rayadas vs. Tuzas for the Ultimate Title
For the first time in history, the Liga MX Femenil Campeón de Campeonas will be played outside of Mexico. The 2025 edition will feature Rayadas de Monterrey and Tuzas del Pachuca, and the match is set to take place on July 16 at Toyota Field in San Antonio, Texas.
This move reflects the continued growth of women’s football in Mexico, with rising stadium attendance and TV viewership. By taking the match to the U.S., the league aims to expand its reach and strengthen ties with Mexican and Latino fans across North America.
🏆 Why Are Rayadas and Tuzas Playing?
Rayadas qualified by winning the Apertura 2024. They’ve played in two previous editions of this title match but lost both (to Chivas and Tigres). This is their chance to finally lift the trophy.
Pachuca earned their first-ever berth in this match after claiming their first Liga MX Femenil title in the Clausura 2025, defeating Club América in the final.
📆 Fixture Adjustments Due to the Campeón de Campeonas
The match has led to some calendar changes for Matchday 2 of the Apertura 2025:
Pachuca’s match vs. Pumas will be rescheduled for later this month.
Rayadas will maintain their regular schedule and will visit Atlético de San Luis shortly after the Campeón de Campeonas.
