🔴⚫ Orlegi Sports to Sell Atlas FC
In a major development for Mexican football, Orlegi Sports has officially confirmed it will sell Atlas FC, ending its ownership of the club after several seasons that included a historic league title run.
The announcement came just days before Atlas’ home match in Jornada 2 of the Apertura 2025 against Cruz Azul. Orlegi stated that a planned and structured transition process is now underway, aiming to ensure the club’s long-term growth under new ownership that understands both its sporting value and social relevance.
💼 End of Multi-Ownership: Santos Remains with Orlegi
As first reported by journalist Pedro Antonio Flores, Orlegi Sports has chosen to retain full control of Santos Laguna, thus ending its multi-ownership in Liga MX. The company has also confirmed that it has partnered with various investment funds to ensure transparency in the sale of Atlas.
While there are already several potential buyers, no official agreement has been reached. The process will comply with all Liga MX regulations, and Orlegi has engaged Moelis & Company, ADS, and Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP as advisors for the transaction.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding the announcement, it has been made clear that Atlas will not be relocated, renamed, or dissolved. Legal protections are in place to ensure that the club remains in Guadalajara, Jalisco, preserving its legacy and fanbase.
